Art Mounting

Artmount offers a frameless solution which allows you to mount and display certain artworks on paper in a smart and contemporary style.

The process involves drymounting onto a strong but lightweight foam centred board which is available in 10mm or 20mm thickness, our experienced staff can advise you which thickness will be best suited to your needs. If necessary, a laminate can be applied to the face of the artwork for protection against harmful UV light, dust and insects.

The visible sides of the board are then finished in either a slick black or clean white edging, which gives a professional finish. A hanging system is provided so the finished product is ready to hang on your wall!

Please note, we do not recommend using Artmount for original artworks which have significant monetary or historical value as the dry-mounting process is permanent and irreversible. This product can only be used on paper-based works.

Acrylic Face Mounting

A recently developed, "frameless" mounting display system which is often used to present contemporary photographic works.

The "face" of the photograph married directly onto the face of a Plexiglas® acrylic sheet using an optical adhesive. A Dibond® backing is then applied to the verso of the photograph for added support and durability.

The clarity and colour of the photographic medium is allowed to flourish as the air and reflective-light space between the glazing and the surface of work has been eliminated.

A "split-batten" is installed on the verso of the aluminium panel so the work can be easily hung onto your wall.

*The specialized techniques which are involved in the mounting of photographic works to Dibond® and Plexiglas® are irreversible and permanent. Considerations should be made if the work is of significant monetary , cultural or historical value. Ultimately we can only advise on the aesthetical approaches and can recommend conservation framing techniques is appropriate.

Diabond Mounting

Dibond® is constructed of a polyethylene core with 0.3mm composite aluminium skin which is extremely strong and lightweight. The ultra smooth aluminium surface is baked and lacquered producing a surface which is ideal for the mounting of large format chromogenic "C-Type" prints or photographs.

A pressure sensitive acrylic adhesive is used during the dry-mounting process which results in an even and smooth finish allowing the aesthetic qualities of the photograph to be shown. This smooth mounting panel produces no "orange peel" effect unlike other veneered or particle boards.

Once a work has been been mounted onto Dibond® it can be hung using a "split-batten" system straight onto the wall or can be "closed framed" with spacers under glass or Perspex.
